GE Asset Intelligence has released a new GPRS/GPS based modem technology with wireless sensors.  These wireless sensors are able to communicate with critical elements of the trailer like the reefer engine, braking systems, door, locks, reinforced curtains and truck identification.   

Unique features of the new modem include: 

  • Wireless sensors … no more cables and connectors
  • Easy to install ... standard factory fit for new trailers or retrofit in GE’s extensive workshop network 
  • Brake controller integration for diagnostics such as brake condition, load, driver braking behaviour, speed etc ... developed jointly with commercial vehicle braking experts KNORR-Bremse AG
  • Reefer controller integration* for diagnostics such as set point, operating mode, defrost, engine running hours, shutdown alarm codes, battery voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature and fuel level etc ... through collaboration with leading global reefer manufacturers Carrier Transicold and Thermo King
  • Truck ID integration*
  • Over the air software upgradeable and configurable 
  • Fail-safe security features to deter asset and freight thieves such as concealed mounting, anti-tamper switch, message encryption and stand-alone power sources
  • Industrially developed with long-life battery and wide operational temperature ranges
  • 3 month battery autonomy
  • 3 axis G-sensor / Accelerometer
  • Available on short term rented equipment from GE’s sister company, TIP Trailer Services
